JAMB UTME 2025 & Direct Entry Registration Procedures
the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is set to begin registration of this year JAMB examination on January 31st 2025.
JAMB UTME Registration Requirements
The JAMB registrar have come to conclusions on the requirements for registering for JAMB this year.
Anyone planning to register for the JAMB UTME must have this following things ready:
1. O Level Certificate (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB). Those awaiting O Level can still register.
2. National Identification Number (NIN)
3. Must be 16 years and above of age.
O. Level Result
JAMB candidates must have an O level result such as WAEC, NECO or NABTEB certificate, the candidate must have credit pass in the compulsory subjects such as English language and Mathematics and credit pass in any other three subjects relating to the candidate’s intending course of study. Those in SSS3 who are about to write the WAEC or NECO examination can register with awaiting result.
National Identification Number (NIN)
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board made it compulsory that all the candidate must have a valid NIN for proper identification before registering and siting for the JAMB examination.
The use of National Identification Number started during the 2021 JAMB registration and has now been made compulsory for each candidate who wants to register for the JAMB UTME.
Age Requirements
The requires age for all JAMB candidates is from 16 years and above, JAMB does not accept candidates below 15 of age.
In addition, JAMB will introduce a mock-trial testing examination for candidates who may not qualify for admission into universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education due to being below 16 years of age.
The Board will enforce the 16-year age limit for this year’s UTME registration. However, gifted candidates below 15 years old may still register, but to be eligible for admission, they must score at least 280 marks in the UTME and excel in the Senior Secondary Certificate and Post-UTME exams.
What is The Total Cost For JAMB This Year?
The total amount required for JAMB registration this year is N8,700 Naira only for those who wish to sit for the Mock Examination while N7200 without the Mock Examination.
The N8,700 and N7200 is distributed as seen follows.

- JAMB CBT Registration Centre Charge: N700
- Bank Charges for E-PIN Purchase: N500
- CBT CENTRE EXAMINATION SERVICE CHARGE: N1,500
- CBT MOCK-UTME CENTRE CHARGE: N1,500 (Optional)
- JAMB Compulsory Novel: (N1,000).
When Will JAMB 2025 Registration Start?
The sales of JAMB e-PINs for UTME registration begins January 31st, 2025 and ends March 5th, 2025. While Registration for UTME begins January 31st and ends March 8th, 2025.
The sales of Direct Entry e-PIN and registration begins March 10th, 2025 and ends April 7th, 2025.
When is the JAMB Examination Date?
The JAMB examination date varies from candidate to candidate. each candidate has his or her examination date, venue and time.
The general JAMB examination will start on 5th April 2025 and end on 5th May 2025.
The Mock-UTME will take place on April 5th, 2025, while the main UTME will start on April 25th, 2025, and conclude on May 5th, 2025.
