The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba has banned indecent dressing and introduced new dress code for students and staff for easy identification in the University campus and off Campus
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, announced this on Tuesday on the noticed board and copied to all Deans, Assistant Deans, Students’ Affairs, Heads of Departments, Directors, Students Union Government (SUG), and some officers addressing staff and students of the institution as they resume the new academic session.
According to Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, henceforth, all students are to be dressing in their faculty uniforms with appropriate ties and shoes. “No student is expected to wear sports dresses, swimming trunks, dirty jean trousers, torn jean trousers, slippers, rugged jeans, coloured hair, artificial dreadlocks, long finger nails, face caps, polo or t-shirts with write-ups, artificial eye lashes, and all manner of unsuitable wears to lectures”.
Chinedum Nwajiuba expressed dismay over the poor dressing attitude of some of the students and staff of the University. He regrets that most students and staff wear t-shirts with unauthorized inscriptions, contrary to the dressing code of the institution.
He reminded the students and staff that indecent dressing has been outlawed in the University and so no student or staff is expected to go unpunished if found guilty, as the rule takes care of that.
In conclusion, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba told the all heads in the University and the students’ representatives that University Management would not stand by and watch any of the students damage the image of the University, especially as the school is gaining more popularity, nationally and internationally, adding that he form a task force that would regularly visit the classrooms and offices on routine check on their dressing and any of student or staff found guilty, would be punished because AE-FUNAI Kicks Against Indecent Dressing: Bans Jeans & Earrings.
